Mounts

Astrosysteme Austria is selling a whole line of mounts, which differ mostly by their payload capacity and type of mounting. Also, they all share the same software, Autoslew and Sequence. Operation is thus similar for all mounts and the procedures differ only slightly among them. Anyway we have a short list here with the main differences and useful notes for each mount.

Overview

The mounts have in common the use of direct drive motors, and encoders on the axis (there are variants with both relative or absolute encoders). All of the mounts lack any sort of brakes, thus an unbalanced system will move once power is off or the motors are turned off.

DDM60 and DDM60 Pro

  • Payload: 28kg (specified, could be more)
  • Power requirements: 12V
  • Polar adjustments: Tip/Tilt
  • Mountable on bent pier: YesShould be doable by moving the Alt screw
  • Drawing of base plate: URL
  • Integrated USB: Yes
  • Integrated cable routing: Only in Pro version
  • Integrated OK3 electronics: Option

The DDM 60 and 60 Pro are currently out of production.
The main reason seems to be there is no room for absolute encoders.

NOTE: What I(reseller in Sweden) understand is that ASA is no longer selling the DDM60 mount, they told me I bought the last DDM 60 last Dec-16 for a customer in Sweden.
